AQ External Level Sensing Technology

AQ level sensing technology operates noninvasively and externally to the tank. This means that direct contact (or line of sight) with the liquid is not required. The sensors can be mounted on the outside of the tank and function through the tank wall. The sensors monitor the level in a container using sound waves.

Functionality

Each sensor can be used either as a switch (i.e. send a signal when the level reaches a certain point on the tank) or it can be used to continuously measure the height of the liquid level in the tank, returning a result in millimeters to the controller.

Easy Installation!

The sensor is easy to install since there is no need for open ports or making holes in the container or tank. They can be attached to steel, glass or plastic tanks & carboys - either on the bottom or the side. The sensor is secured to the tank in seconds via a fast cure silicone adhesive.

The Level Sensor connects to a D72 control unit. The control unit can connect up to four (4) sensors at one time and is easily programmed to operate in either switch mode or continuous measurement mode. Level control is accomplished by attaching the output of the D72 controller to the input of a peristaltic tubing pump equipped with start/stop contact closure (such as the Masterflex® CL® Pump 77122-20). The sensors determine the presence of the liquid/air interface in the container and the controller responds accordingly - telling the pump when to turn-on or turn-off.

Types of Level Sensors

The AQ Level Switch comes in three different models:

KS Model for all general applications
RS Model for multiple fluid media and tight geometry, e.g. pipes.
LS Model for applications requiring explosion proof certification (II2G EEx ia IIB T4)
